- 2008 - Tokyo, Japan. 12th World Congress

-2006 - Nairobi, Kenya. IAALD Africa conference on Managing Agricultural Information for Sustainable Food Security and Improved Livelihoods in Africa, 21-26 May. IAALD Africa Chapter is formed.

- 2005 - Lexington, Kentucky USA. 11th World Congress/USAIN Biennial Conference on The Globalization of Information: Agriculture at the Crossroads, 15-19 May. Peter Ballantyne (The Netherlands) is elected President of IAALD.

- 2004 - IAALD becomes a member of AgNIC.

- 2004 - Bangkok, Thailand. AFITA/WCCA. 4th International Conference of the Asian Federation of Information Technology in Agriculture/The 2nd World Congress on Computers in Agriculture and Natural Resources, 9-12 August.

- 2003 - IAALD becomes a founding member of the International Network for Information Technology in Agriculture (INFITA).

- 2003 - Antiqua, Guatemala, XIII Reunion Interamericana de Bibliotecarios y Documentalistas Agricolas (RIBDA), 22-25 September.

- 2003 - Budapest/Debrecen, Hungary, Fourth Conference of EFITA (European Federation of Information Technology in Agriculture, Food and the Environment), 5-9 July.

- 2003 - Nitra, Slovak Republic, 9th Central and Eastern European Roundtable Meeting on "Food Safety and Quality in Transition Countries". 24-26 March.

- 2003 - Jan van der Burg resigns as President of IAALD and Pamela Q. J. Andre (USA) agrees to complete the term.

- 1996 - Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. Training Workshop on Information Management with Special Emphasis on Provision of Computer-based Information Services, 15-19, April.

- 1995 - Agricultural Information Resource Centers: A World Directory, 1995 compiled by Jane S. Johnson, C. Rita Fisher and Carol (Boast) Robertson and published jointly with CTA.

- 1995 - First IAALD training aid published with Quarterly Bulletin, volume 39, number 4.

- 1995 - Melbourne, Australia. 9th World Congress on Communicating Agricultural Information in Remote Places, 23-26 January. Jan van der Burg (The Netherlands) elected President of IAALD. IAALD World Directory Committee presents IAALD with a check for US$45,000 for the Training and Education Fund.

- 1994 - IAALD training workshop to support the agricultural information network in Sri Lanka, 15-20 December.

- 1994 - IAALD Lettre d'Information (newsletter of the IAALD Francophone Group) published.

- 1993 - Bonn, Germany. European Regional Congress (Symposium) on New Information Technologies in Agriculture, 10-12 November.

- 1993 - Rabat, Morocco. IAALD/Francophone Roundtable, 26-30 July.

- 1992 - Bordeaux, France. IAALD/Francophone Roundtable on Information Transfer in a World Economy, 20-24 January.

- 1991 - Beltsville, MD, USA North American Regional Congress (Symposium) on Advances in Information Technology, 16-20 September.

- 1990 - Budapest, Hungary. 8th World Congress on Information and the End User, 28-31 May. Joseph Howard (USA) is elected President of IAALD. The IAALD General Assembly votes to change the organization name from the International Association of Agricultural Librarians and Documentalists to International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists. The acronym, IAALD, is retained.

- 1990 - Agricultural Information Resource Centers: A World Directory, 1990 compiled by Rita C. Fisher, Julia C. Peterson, John W. Beecher, Jane S. Johnson, and Carol Boast and published jointly with CTA.

- 1988 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Asian Regional Congress on Strategic Issues in Agricultural Information, 21-24 November.

- 1985 - Ottawa, Canada. 7th World Congress on Information for Food, 2-6 June. Ernest Mann (UK) is re-elected President of IAALD.

- 1983 - Nairobi, Kenya. African Regional Congress on Education and Training for Agricultural Library and Information Work, 7-12 March.

- 1980 - Manila, The Philippines. 6th World Congress on Agricultural Information to Hasten Development, 3-7 March. Ernest Mann (UK) is elected as President of IAALD.

- 1980 - Primer for Agricultural Libraries 2d ed. by Olga Lendvay is published.

- 1980 - IAALD News, an annual newsletter from the President's office, is launched.

- 1978 - Hamburg, Germany. European Regional Congress on Modern Systems and Networks on the Reliability of Information, 17-22 April.

- 1975 - Mexico City, Mexico. 5th World Congress on Information Networks, 14-18 April. Philippe Aries (France) is re-elected as President of IAALD.

- 1973 - Wageningen, The Netherlands. European Regional Congress on Progress and Prospects in Agricultural Librarianship, 14-18 May.

- 1972 - Berlin, Germany. "International Day in Cooperation with IAALD" at the GBDL Congress, 9 June.

- 1971 - IAALD and FAO set up AGLINET - a worldwide document delivery network for agricultural libraries.

- 1970 - Paris, France. 4th World Congress on Acquisition and Exploitation of Information in the Fields of Food and Agriculture, 20-25 April. Philippe Aries (France) is elected President of IAALD.

- 1968 - Foster Mohrhardt resigns as President of IAALD and T.P. Loosjes (The Netherlands) completed the term.

- 1967 - Primer for Agricultural Libraries by Dorothy Parker, F.C. Hirst, T.P. Loosjes and G. Koster is published.

- 1967 - Current Agricultural Serials Volume 2: Indexes compiled by D.H. Boalch is published.

- 1965 - Washington, D.C. USA. 3rd World Congress on Worldwide Cooperation, 3rd-9th October. Foster Mohrhardt (USA) is elected to a third term as President of IAALD.

- 1965 - IAALD Established a scholarship for travel to agricultural Libraries.

- 1965 - Current Agricultural Serials volume 1: Alphabetical List compiled by D.H. Boalch is published.

- 1963 - Wye, England. European Regional Congress, 3rd-9th July.

- 1960 - Stuttgart, Germany. 2nd World Congress, Working Conference on International Co-operation in Agricultural Librarianship and Documentation 25-28 April. Foster Mohrhardt (USA) is re-elected President of IAALD.

- 1960 - World Directory of Agricultural Libraries and Documentation Centres edited by D.H. Boalch is published. Funding for the Directory is provided by John Deere Foundation.

- 1960 - Stuttgart-Hohenheim, Germany. OEEC/IAALD Seminar on Agricultural Documentation, 20-23 April.

- 1959 - Sample issue of World Agricultural Economics Abstracts (now World Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Abstracts) is published.

- 1956 - First issue of the Quarterly Bulletin of IAALD is published with D.H. Boalch (United Kingdom) as editor.

- 1955 - Ghent, Belgium. 1st World Congress on Founding of IAALD, Foster Mohrhardt (USA) is elected President of IAALD. IAALD Constitution is framed by Walther Gleisberg (Germany).
