- 1990 - Budapest, Hungary. 8th World Congress on Information and the End User, 28-31 May. Joseph Howard (USA) is elected President of IAALD. The IAALD General Assembly votes to change the organization name from the International Association of Agricultural Librarians and Documentalists to International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists. The acronym, IAALD, is retained.

- 1985 - Ottawa, Canada. 7th World Congress on Information for Food, 2-6 June. Ernest Mann (UK) is re-elected President of IAALD.

- 1980 - IAALD News, an annual newsletter from the President's office, is launched.

- 1975 - Mexico City, Mexico. 5th World Congress on Information Networks, 14-18 April. Philippe Aries (France) is re-elected as President of IAALD.

- 1973 - Wageningen, The Netherlands. European Regional Congress on Progress and Prospects in Agricultural Librarianship, 14-18 May.

- 1972 - Berlin, Germany. "International Day in Cooperation with IAALD" at the GBDL Congress, 9 June.

- 1971 - IAALD and FAO set up AGLINET - a worldwide document delivery network for agricultural libraries.

- 1970 - Paris, France. 4th World Congress on Acquisition and Exploitation of Information in the Fields of Food and Agriculture, 20-25 April. Philippe Aries (France) is elected President of IAALD.

- 1968 - Foster Mohrhardt resigns as President of IAALD and T.P. Loosjes (The Netherlands) completed the term.

- 1967 - Primer for Agricultural Libraries by Dorothy Parker, F.C. Hirst, T.P. Loosjes and G. Koster is published.

- 1967 - Current Agricultural Serials Volume 2: Indexes compiled by D.H. Boalch is published.

- 1965 - Washington, D.C. USA. 3rd World Congress on Worldwide Cooperation, 3rd-9th October. Foster Mohrhardt (USA) is elected to a third term as President of IAALD.

- 1965 - IAALD Established a scholarship for travel to agricultural Libraries.

- 1965 - Current Agricultural Serials volume 1: Alphabetical List compiled by D.H. Boalch is published.

- 1963 - Wye, England. European Regional Congress, 3rd-9th July.

- 1960 - Stuttgart, Germany. 2nd World Congress, Working Conference on International Co-operation in Agricultural Librarianship and Documentation 25-28 April. Foster Mohrhardt (USA) is re-elected President of IAALD.

- 1960 - World Directory of Agricultural Libraries and Documentation Centres edited by D.H. Boalch is published. Funding for the Directory is provided by John Deere Foundation.

- 1960 - Stuttgart-Hohenheim, Germany. OEEC/IAALD Seminar on Agricultural Documentation, 20-23 April.

- 1959 - Sample issue of World Agricultural Economics Abstracts (now World Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Abstracts) is published.

- 1956 - First issue of the Quarterly Bulletin of IAALD is published with D.H. Boalch (United Kingdom) as editor.
