IAALD is a membership organisation. Our members are individuals
and organisations specialising in or interested in agricultural
information. As ‘agricultural information specialists', we are professionally
involved in creating, capturing, accessing, or disseminating information
and knowledge concerning agriculture and rural development. IAALD
members are drawn from research and development institutes, international
agencies, universities and colleges, government departments, information
providers, non-governmental organisations and the private sector.
The Association is governed by an Executive
Committee elected from the membership for a 5 year term. The
ExCo also has representatives appointed by chapters
and other associations with whom we work closely. We have three
main classes of membership - personal, student, and institutional
(more information and application forms are here).
We currently have around 400 members in more than 80 countries.
